The ‘Why?’ Behind Wixcorp
How did three brothers turn a healthcare headache into a patient-centric revolution? By asking a simple question, that somehow no one in the healthcare industry could fully answer: “How does a single dollar actually move through a hospital?”
Eric Wixom has spent his entire career inside the healthcare industry, with a personal side quest: mapping the journey of a dollar through a health system. Two truths appeared from his investigation:
- Healthcare revenue cycle is so complicated that no one truly knows how it all works, and
- Healthcare had shifted from wholesale to retail without hospitals recalibrating their operations.
Hospitals were built to collect large checks from dozens of insurance companies — not small balances from tens of thousands of patients. They kept calling Eric, saying they were missing millions of dollars. Every time, the answer was the same: patient A/R had ballooned, and no tools existed to fix it. That’s when Eric turned to family.
His brother Jeff had spent his career designing easy, intuitive, and human digital engagement strategies for major brands like Sony, Samsung, Humana, and Mercedes. He instantly recognized that healthcare was doing one thing, and modern consumer brands were doing the opposite. Together, they sketched out a plan to bridge that gap.
Enter their third brother: Dustin, a world-class software architect. When they pitched the idea, he told them the technology wasn’t there. So they decided to build it together. No investors. No safety net. Just three laptops, a shared vision, and way too much caffeine.
That’s how Redde was born, a patient engagement platform built for the modern consumer, to help hospitals collect what they earn in a modern, scalable way.
